Board member Sue Miller holds the box containing many hundreds of quilt raffle tickets as the musician at the Farmers Market on Friday, July 21, draws the winning ticket, which was purchased by Michele Hammond of Warrensburg. The beautiful quilt, titled "On the Wings of the Wind," was commissioned by Jane LeCount in 1983 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of Man in Flight and the Glens Falls Hot Air Balloon Festival. It's 66" x 87" and was designed and created by Ellen Ellis, Mary Lou Smith, and Susan Johnson of Maranatha Quilters in Lake Luzerne. Jane donated it to be raffled off to benefit the Warrensburgh Historical Society and the Church of the Holy Cross. It was on display at the museum for six months.
