Warrensburg Thurman Town Historian


The Warrensburgh-Thurman Historical Society is pleased to welcome Myra Vopleus as the newly appointed Town Historian for both the Town of Warrensburg and the Town of Thurman. Myra also serves on the Board of Directors of the Warrensburgh-Thurman Historical Society, strengthening collaboration between the Society and the Town Historian role.​

The Town Historian helps preserve and share local history by assisting with historical research, maintaining records and resources, and working with residents and community organizations to support the memory of our area.

Myra Vopleus serves as the Town Historian for both the Town of Warrensburg and the Town of Thurman. In this role, she is responsible for helping preserve, document, and interpret the historical record of both communities.
The Town Historian supports research into local history, assists residents and officials with historically relevant questions, and works to ensure that important documents, photographs, and records are identified and preserved for future generations. The role also serves as a bridge between municipal history and the broader community, encouraging awareness of the people, places, and events that shaped Warrensburg and Thurman.
